1.A nurturing daily practice

Nurture Works spreads the message

‘Nurture yourself. Make it your daily practice’

I facilitate a reminder to be nurturing, gentle and loving to ourselves at each Namaste Yoga class but sometimes, I know , it is hard to get to class and it feels almost impossible to come on a yoga holiday.

We all know it to be a good wellness practice, this nurturing thing. It makes sense and we almost always feel immediate benefit but gosh it is hard to do sometimes – although it is so very simple.

I have very loyal and dedicated students and I get an insight into their lives each week when they either turn up to class , in spite of what is going on or, send me their message with an explanation as to why they can’t make it. Often family and work responsibilities are the hurdles as well as being tired or practicalities like limited resources. These may prevent you coming to a class but, if we are all honest, we know even in the most demanding of lives we do have a little , perhaps a lot, of time.

To support our wellness journey I will do a daily post during January 2020 to suggest a simple nurturing practice to incorporate into your day.

If you like a practice keep it and add another one tomorrow. Keep seeking out ‘feeling good’ or ‘self nurturing’ practices the effect will build wellness and resilience.

TODAY’S NURTURING PRACTICE

Happy New Yoga Year

My wise and happy teacher Guru Made Sumantra says

‘the goal is to be happy in life’.

His teachings are guided by this philosophy as guided by the ancient RSI Markandeya.

I have learnt that joyful and nurturing yoga leads to happiness and I love to share this with Namaste Yoga.
