‘A taste of Balinese Yoga’ Workshop

Workshop is coming up  this  Saturday 14th October

10.30am-12noon

at Davistown Progress Hall

for bookings see below

Guru Made Sumantra (GMS) teaches that yoga is a life practice that brings happiness. This yoga is a ‘smile in your heart’ experience and it is with a joyful heart that I share the teachings.

This workshop is an experience of Balinese yoga as taught by GMS received from RSI Markandaya*.
Nicole is a member of the Indonesian Yoga Teachers Association.

The workshop is suitable for the beginner through to more experienced practitioner of yoga and will focus on Hatha practices that train us to unite, awaken and harmonise Surya (Sun) energy and Chakra energy( our energy centres).

Hatha Yoga emphasises posture (asana), breathing (pranayama), visualisation, and integrative relaxation. GMS sees it as the dance of body movement which is harmoniously united with breath as we connect to our true self.

Please bring a blanket, cushion and yoga mat (I have spare mats if you don’t have one).

Workshop is $16
Places are limited. Booking and prepayment required.

Affirm with Asana “I am resilient’

Sunday 3rd December 10.30am @ Davistown Progress Hall

Nicole teaches a Hatha style which she calls Namaste Yoga or ‘joyful and nurturing yoga’.
Hatha (Ha- Sun Tha – Moon) Yoga is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that emphasises posture (asana), breathing (pranayama), visualisation, and integrative relaxation.

Nicole’s classes/workshops are relatively gentle and slow flow, great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style. She enjoys teaching a dance of harmonious movement of the body and breath connecting us to our true self.

This workshop teaches a sequence which flows through warrior, balance, forward and side bend practices complete with affirmations. Nicole created the sequence, able to be done on the beach and without a mat (in Nicole’s case), called ‘I am resilient’ . You will discover that reliance in these practices rests on your own body its breath, this in turn builds resilience of body, mind and spirit.

The session begins with Pranayama (breath practices) and progresses through warm up postures and the individual asanas which then evolves into the gentle but powerful flow practice ‘I am resilient’. The session completes with a guided meditation in Savasana (lying down).

As always modifications and variations will be offered so that the sequence can be adapted for individual practice.

Please bring a blanket, cushion and yoga mat (I have spare mats if you don’t have one).

Workshop is $16
